Franklin Regional Athletic Association Cheerleading

Welcome to FRAA Recreational Cheer!

We are excited to offer recreational cheerleading for students in 1st through 6th grade. In being a part of a cheer team, your child will learn dance, tumbling, and stunting skills along with how to work together as a team, show spirit and support for one another, and make lifelong friends. We are looking forward to a great season of hard work and fun!

Our Mission

FRAA cheerleading was created on the principles of inclusivity and creating opportunities for students in the Franklin Regional school district. The recreational cheer squads will work together to represent a unified Franklin Regional school district by demonstrating friendship, practicing leadership, and promoting school spirit. The program builds the foundations of long-term success for Franklin Regional middle school and high school cheer programs.

About FRAA Rec Cheer

Who is eligible for FRAA recreational cheer?
  • Students in grades 1st - 6th grade residing in the Franklin Regional School District are eligible for FRAA recreational cheer.
  • Priority registration will be given to those not currently participating in another Franklin Regional cheer program. Students participating in another FR non-competitive cheer program may register for FRAA recreational cheer's waitlist, and participation will not be confirmed until registration is closed. This is to ensure availability and opportunity on the squads for students that do not have the option to cheer for other FR sports due to capacity limits.

How will the recreational cheer squads be determined?
  • Registration for recreational cheer will occur annually in early September.
  • Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis by the following teams:

    • Gold: 5th & 6th grade

Whom do the recreational squads cheer for?
  • Cheer teams perform sideline chants and halftime routines at the FRAA boys' in-house basketball games (grades 3-6).
